2. What makes RainDrain
Seamless Gutters different from the other companies in Bozeman
and the Gallatin Valley?
We are in business for our customers - that's
why we offer over 60
colors as well as custom color-matching,
copper, rusty, Acrylume, half-round, decorative hangers and rain chains,
and even custom designed gutters and downspouts. Other gutter
companies only work with one supplier and have limited
colors available. RainDrain Seamless is able to offer our customers
a variety of premium gutter options and solutions to best meet
their needs, project style, and budget.
Please refer to our Product
Information page for
a full explanation of what makes us different and our Seamless
Gutter Products.
3. Are you limited
to projects and installations only in the Gallatin Valley and
Bozeman area?
No, RainDrain Seamless Gutters has installed
gutter systems throughout the state of Montana, and we are not
limited to just the Bozeman area. We've done work in Helena,
North of White Sulfur Springs, West Yellowstone,
Ennis, and more. We welcome the opportunity to work on your project,
no matter where it might be located.
4. How long does a
typical gutter system installation take?
Between 1/2
and a full day for most projects.
5. What is heat tape
and do you install it?
Heat tape is a basic gutter mounted ice melt
system which we recommend on north facing gutters or any gutter
or downspout location known to have a freezing problem. Without
an ice melt system, gutters and downspouts may fill with ice,
rendering the gutter system nonfunctional and possibly causing
damage to the gutters, downspouts, or roof. We do not install
heat tape or any other ice melt system ourselves as it involves
electrical work. We have qualified associates we can recommend
if you are interested.
6.
What kind of gutter protection (screens etc) do you offer?
Our most commonly installed
gutter screen is a simple mesh screen that snaps onto the top
of the gutter, preventing mid to large size leaves, twigs and
other debris from entering the gutter system thereby preventing
blockage. Needles and other fine debris may still enter the system,
but they are typically flushed through the system and do not
cause direct blockage. Most of the debris caught by the screens
will be dispersed from the system by the wind. Although there
is a variety of other screens and gutter protection on the market,
we find this works best for the majority of our clients in this
environment. Please note, adding screens does not mean a maintenance
free system. The screens and gutter system should be inspected
annually and any remaining debris should be manually removed.
Investing time to clean and maintain a gutter
system doubles, or even triples, the life of the gutter system.
This is especially true in Montana where clogged gutters can
lead to ice damming and further roofing problems. Gutters should
be inspected in the fall after the leaves fall to insure all
snow melt will drain. Houses in the downtown area or around many
established trees should check their gutters twice a year.
7.
What material is your gutter made of and what colors does it
come in?
The most common gutter system
we install is an aluminum gutter system, which is available in
over 60 standard colors. We have other premium colors available
by special order. Custom color-matching is also available.
We also install copper, Acrylume, and rusted
steel gutter systems. Acrylume is a product similar to galvanized
steel. Our rusted steel gutter system is installed with a beautiful
spectrum of rust on the outside of the gutter, while the inside
remains coated to protect the system and the water running through
it.
For examples, please see our Project
Showcase.
8. Other companies
offer Copper Gutters as an option, why should I choose RainDrain
Seamless Gutters for my Copper Gutter installation?
Copper should be left
to trained and experienced professionals - inexperienced or unconscienscious
workers may leave unsightly finger prints which will
tarnish the copper and cannot be removed. Poor installation
and dissimilar metals not only detract from the installation
itself, but can actually damage your investment.
9. What exactly does "seamless" gutter
mean?
Seamless gutter means that we bring a roll-forming
machine to your site, and form the gutter in custom lengths according
to your project specifications. Do-It-Yourself purchases
from home improvement stores will be in 10' lengths, requiring
several seams along a length of gutter. This causes more potential
for leaks, reduces the integral strength of the gutter pieces,
highly increases the chance that gutter will not be straight
for the entire length giving it improper pitch along the
gutter obstructing the most efficient flow of water through the
system, and lastly, is aesthetically unpleasing. Seamless Gutter
Systems installed by RainDrain will be seamed at the corners
only.
10. What kind of
gutter corners do you install?
We exclusively provide custom-mitered corners
on all of our gutters. This means that we do not cap our gutter
corners with a box or strip miter. The gutter lengths
are entirely seamless along the length of the gutter and
the face of the gutter is smooth around the entire system. Not
all gutter companies can offer these corners, as they require
craftsmanship and time. We pride ourselves in giving each client
the best gutter system available for their specific needs, and
this is one example of how we always provide the best.
11.
What profiles do you offer?
Our Seamless Gutters are
the standard K-style seen on most homes in the area. Please refer
to pictures in this
site to see how this profile compliments most architecture and
fascia styles. In addition, we install half-round gutter systems.
Our half-round installations are installed seamlessly in lengths
of up to 20 feet. Lenghts over 20 feet will be seamed,
sealed, and glued, with seams hidden by
the half-round hanger. We also offer custom-designed profiles to compliment any
style or design for your project.
12.
What downspouts do you offer?
Our Seamless Gutters are available
with a variety of downspout options, from standard 2x3", 3" round,
3x4" (commercial applications,) or even custom-designed downspouts
to best fit your application.
13. What other
options/accessories do you offer?
- Splashblocks: plastic green and brown,
and concrete in two different styles.
- Downspout Extensions:
additional piece of downspout added on to the bottom of the
downspout to move the water further away from the foundation
of the house.
- Flipspouts: a type of downpsout
extension; extension has a joint at the base and can be rotated
up and latched while mowing etc.
- rain chains: standard logging-style
chain and many decorative chains available.
- Mitered Endcaps: like the custom
mitered corners, we can miter the endcaps so the profile of
the gutter continues from the face onto the endcap.
